CABO VERDE….Made history…..a country filled with 530,000+ beautiful souls is shocking the world…..one of the biggest surprises so far in the World Cup……I’m not sure you understand the first two games they played..…they were against teams who have won the World Cup….Spain 0-0…..no one saw that coming……except maybe me….I picked 0-0….Spain is overrated now and I never heard about the team….I knew where they slept….so I wanted to help a brother out….and went for the underdog….…..but the one against Ecuador….2-2…..that was a “WHAT??” moment…..it was one of best games of the tournament so far…..and a 0-0 draw against Saudi Arabia…..they didn’t win one game…..the odds of them making out of the group stage was…..one percent….and they made it to the 32 knockout stage…..everyone thought they would be “one and done”……when you take into account what it took the players to get to this point…..I respect them even more….Kevin Lenini Pina gave up on football only to be found showing his talents on the street…..Joa Paulo Fernandes……whose father had to sacrifice work hours…..to take him by ferry to Praia so he could play football…..Sidney Lopes Cabral……who was in the German “Fifth” year three years ago…..Garry Rodrigues……who failed to get a pro contract for four years after being released…..and then played amateur football…..while working the night shift as a postman……Ryan Mendes……overlooked for Riyad Mahrez due to an injury at Le Havre……Jovane Cabral……who was never looked at the same after his injury……Willy Semdo…..who wasn’t looked at in France…..and had to excel elsewhere to make it to the World Cup……all these guy proved doubters wrong…..many didn’t even know where Cabo was located….they hired players via Linkedin…..they’re playing with heart now…….with fight….they’re a solid unit now….you want to know what the games are all about…..it’s this team…..one written off before the games began…..and I’m always for the underdog and the football world has fallen in love with them…..the best video so far…..watching the people in Cabo Verde celebrate their first World Cup goal…..they took to the streets of Brockton, MA….. a area known as “The 11th island of Cape Verde”…..Brockton is home to the largest Cape Verde population in America….when the team scored their first ever World Cup goal…..Brockton, fans in attendance….everyone back home….lost it…..that’s World Cup…..this game turn that place into the next tourist hotspot…….the Ecuador game?…..that was an 11-meter foul but the officiating in this World Cup….has been marked by a significant number of inconsistencies….and it’s disappointing….in their first appearance in the World Cup…they finished as runners-up in their group by not wining one game….Spain 0-0….Uruguay….2-2….and Saudia Arabia 0-0…..undefeated in the group stage, finishing in second place and advanced to the knockout stage…..they proved that the fighting spirit can match the big nations….and boy did they……
ARG/CPV…..How does the song go….. “I think you better recognize!”…..I picked the little guys to win….and we all know the end result of the game….one things for sure….I’ve watched World Cup games for years…..and this game……was one of the best…..ever!….…..from missing a visa……to witnessing her son’s World Cup dream come true…..this is the Cup’s most beautiful story……

VOZINHA…..The biggest breakout star of the 2026 FIFA World Cup…..at 40-years-old……this brother blocked damn near everything shot in his direction….he…shut down…..Messi!…..yeah, him….shot….down….Messi……at one point during the game, a camera hit Messi after a scoring attempt…..you could see the “WTF?….again?” look on his face…..this brother was the star of the World Cup….his team…..the hit of the World Cup and yeah, we’re gonna miss them…..they proved don’t believe the hype…..Vozinha said this in respect to Messi…… “He’s the greatest footballer of all time….every team panics when they have to face him…..sharing the pitch with Messi is a dream and I’ll proudly tell my kids….I played against him one day….just last World Cup I was supporting him as a loyal fan”….he’s played all over the world…..but his mother wasn’t allowed to watch him play because she couldn’t get a visa….Congressman Hakeem Jeffries asked the State Department to grant Vozinha’s mother a visa to the U.S……to watch her son play in the World Cup…..she was finally approved and flew across the world to surprise her son…..and see him become one of the most beloved players competing in the games…..seven saves against Spain…..out of 27 shot on goal…..held two other teams to a scoreless draw…..8 saves against Argentina….his two best games of his career in the two biggest games of his career….he didn’t turn professional until he was 25-years-old….his nickname Vozinha, is Portuguese for “Grandmother”….his teammates gave it to him as a way to bully him on the field…..he took that name and made it his own…..and wore it all the way to the World Cup….15 years, 5 countries, nine different clubs….one night in Atlanta, Georgia….and the whole world finally caught up to an unknown hidden gem of a player…..this dude shut down Messi!…..no one even cares that they lost that game…..because they won in so many different ways….I may speak for many….Cabo Verde….you will never be forgotten for the legacy you’ve left on the world……..no doubt about it…..you won our hearts…..thank you….3-2 against the World Cup Champions….and they gave you a 1% chance to make it out of your group….and you took them down to the last seconds……like Ms. Aretha said….. “R…E……!”…..that was “THEE” game of the entire Cup…..let it be known….Cabo Verde’s historic World Cup journey comes to an end…..but the Blue Sharks leave the tournament as heroes…..who inspired millions around the world…..after the loss….Vozinha played the consoler….he went around, lifted his players off the ground and told them, “Don’t cry….the world will remember.”…..that’s the first time I’ve seen a losing team…..walk away with the trophy…..that’s World Cup America!…..that game was the most watched World Cup match….globally….2.7 billion viewers.
