ESTIMATES SAY 10,000 U.S. VETERANS HAVE BEEN DEPORTED……38% of the U.S. military are noncitizens…..and thousands are being deported for non-violent crimes….and Sae Joon Park self-deported to South Korea….a decorated Army veteran left his family in Hawaii….not knowing when he’ll see them again…..Park moved to the U.S from South Korea when he was 7-years-old and had legal permanent residency under a green card…..he lived in America for 48 years….he joined the military at 19….and fought in Panama during the Noriega War in 1089……he was shot twice during combat and was awarded a Purple Heart for his bravery…..he was honorably discharged and returned to his then home LA…..where he suffered severs post-traumatic stress disorder….he turned to marijuana to cope with his nightmares and sensitivity to loud noises and moved to Hawaii in 1995….for a better lifestyle…..but became addicted to cocaine and struggled for years to get clean…. “Drugs had a big control throughout my life…..and that’s what eventually got me into trouble with the law and everything”…..in 2009 he was convicted of drug possession and served two and a half years in prison…..when he was released, ICE agents detained him and revoked his green card…..he fought his deportation and was allowed to stay under deferred action….as long as he stayed clean and sober…..he turned his life around, became a loving father of two children and cared for his aging parents and aunts who are in their 80’s…..recently officials ended his deferred action status and told him he had to leave the country…..or be detained and forcibly deported…..many people are upset about this decision…. “He took two bullets for this country…..he’s more American than most Americans living in America”……Park’s attorney Danicole Ramos said…. “In every sense of him, he is an American but on paper….we have a veteran  who took a bullet for his country….who fought and swore an oath to preserve, protect and defend the constitution of the United States…..even though he wasn’t a citizen of it…..Mr. Park is a victim of this poor system where we’re not supporting or veterans…..now he’s leaving the only real home he’s known…..to start over in a place he hasn’t visited in 30 years.”…..you see now…..if you are not what “THEY” consider American……they will “rid you”…..and send you where you shouldn’t be…..only because “THEY” deem you….. “Un-American.”…..meaning…..not White-Christian enough…..and Mr. Park is being sent to a country he hasn’t resided in….in years and will have to relearn everything.
