…….Nicole sent me a text….which said..… “Prince is dead”…..I said…… “Prince who?”..…so she sent another which said..… “Prince”…..so I thought…….Prince Harry..…William.…Albert..…that guy in Sweden?…..so I sent another one..…which said… “Which Prince?”…..I guess I pissed her off because her next text said… “THE PRINCE!!!”……then I got it and said to myself..… “Get the…..out of here”……so I clicked on my CNN app…..and read.….Prince is dead at 57…..the first thing out of my mouth was… “OH HELL NO!”……minutes later the articles and tributes were popping up worldwide…..and no other death of an artist went around the world this fast…..never!…..I had the pleasure to tour and photograph him many times and he never ceased to amaze me…..every show.….he couldn’t act worth a damn.….but give that man an instrument…..and if you didn’t dance, sing along or stare in awe…..something is seriously wrong with you..….people may say that Michael Jackson was the best ever (and I also toured with him)…..but I would disagree..…one because you can’t compare the two of them….Prince saved the 80’s music scene..…there was mostly garbage on the airwaves..…and it seemed like he was coming out with a new album every week…..Dirty Mind (1980)…..Controversy (1981).…1999 (1982).….Around The World in a Day (1985)…..Parade (1986)..…Sign o`the Times (1987)……and of course Purple Rain..…when he formed the band The Revolution..…and during the 80’s he wrote songs for and produced work for many other acts….often under pseudonyms..….he incorporated funk, dance and rock in his music…and jazz….and he still released three solo albums before forming The New Power Generation..….and they were so funky…..it should’ve been against the law for them to even exist..…after changing his name to the “Love Symbol”..…he was cranking out albums faster than you could count..…just so he could get out of his contract with Warner Bros..…between 1994 and 1996 he put out five records..…. “FIVE”……most artist now days don’t do that in ten years…now checkout how bad this dude was…..in 2000 he changed his name back to Prince…..and pumped out 15 albums….. “15”..…his last one HITnRUN Phase Two….was released exclusively on the Tidal streaming service in December 11, 2015…the man wrote his first song when he was seven.….and never stopped…..and just in case you didn’t know..….remember his first album For You…..he produced it, arranged, composed and played all 27 instruments on the album…..except for Soft and Wet…..that was co-written..…remember Tipper Gore?..…Al Gores’ nutty wife?…..the reason we have Parental Advisory labels on CD’s is because of her..…one day she caught her 12-year-old daughter grinding to “Darling Nikki”…..and she decided to form the Parents Music Resource Center……thanks to Prince……this true genius recorded over 50 records…..won 7 Grammys..….1 Golden Globe……1 Oscar….sold over 100 million records……was inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame in 2004.….did 28 tours and too many surprise concerts to count..…and was such a humanitarian……so do yourself a favor..…and go out a buy..…Rainbow Children..….N.E.W.S…..and if you can find them….Madhouse 8….Madhouse 16 and Madhouse 24…….it was so cool of NASA to post a photo of a purple nebula in space in honor of Prince……now as for me……I refuse to believe he’s gone…..he will never be gone as far as I’m concerned…..I have way too many memories..…and his music!…..rest in peace Prince Roger Nelson..….and you’re right….. “Cool means being able to hang out with yourself!”….definitely a “Prince among men!”
