MALAGA, SPAIN….DAY – 5 1/2

…..This was the first day…..we didn’t hurry to do anything…..not that we ever do….but it was more like…..let’s hit…..Mala Leche for breakfast and see how the day goes….great place for breakfast…..we hit the same beach area where Pedro works….we’ve walked all up and down the beach areas…..starting near our apartment…..and right up the coast….they have signs posted with numbers and Spanish on them…..what it means?….no idea but I’ll assume it’s a certain beach area letting you know where you are…..didn’t matter to us…..we started at 20…..next thing we knew…..61 was coming up….anyway, Pedro’s spot is the best…..Nicole munched on the fresh sardines he cooks…..twice…..he didn’t want to accept any money for the dish…..my wife didn’t care….he smiled and hugged her….she played fish…..I sat on the patio of Factura Simplificada…..downing beers…..writing….and puff, puff, passed with my man…..I always wonder why or how can someone stress themselves out…..when that’s the one thing you don’t want to do…..when you’re on vacation…..ok, there is one thing that will stress you the heck out in this city…..trying to find your hotel, hostel, apartment….whatever….in the center city…..we laugh now…..but it wasn’t funny when we first arrived…..you can pick a café or bar to chill…..and you’ll see people multiple times…..dragging their suitcases, their kids and looking at their phones for directions….when you see then for a third time…..and the frustration face arises….you know they’re pissed….like I said…..Google Maps…..ain’t the best thing when you have to deal with the “Mazetrix”……but spending a long wonderful day at the beach was the best medicine…..and another thing…..they way people walk here would piss off New Yorkers…..I don’t mind the coming within “inches” walking…..but when you walk into me….because your face is planted in that damn phone….. “YOU’RE TOO DAMN CLOSE!”…..but hey,…..people don’t mind jaywalking though……and remember Nicole’s yoga teacher training friend?…..she said the men here are really good-looking, most aren’t interested in a long relationship……and many still live with “Mama”…..BUT…..she also added….. “The policemen are fine as hell”……I have such a love for this city because…..of the LGBTQ+ population….I truly hate when “Community” is added on…..it sounds so separate to me…..easy day……wonderful day.

DAY 6…..Me…..I wanted to sleep of the sangria hangout a little bit more…..but guess who stood over me and said….. “NO!”…..yep…..since we’re leaving tomorrow…..and now we’re wishing for two-three more days…..we had breakfast at Next Level…..so I could have my final slice of cheesecake….and you want to know why?…..because “IT TASTE SO DAMN GOOD”…..Nicole did the avocado toast again…..she still threatened the cook for the cake recipe…..never got it….it melts in your mouth….no chewing…..melts….man…. “IT TASTE SO DAMN GOOD”…..and we can’t kidnap him because he won’t fit in my Nike shoulder bag…..and her suitcase is too small…..and off to…..yep, same spot…..hey when you find a spot…..and if feels good…..enjoy it….we’re not museum, tour bus, doing tourist shit people……we’re not…..give us the local people who live here…..you’ll learn and see more…..and for goodness sakes…..never over pack…..my brother gave me “THE BEST” advice…..whether packing for a trip or packing up your house….. “IF YOU CAN’T CARRY IT – YOU DON’T NEED IT”…..and we live by that mantra…..we see people dragging suitcases weighing the same as a dead dragon and say….. “You won’t wear half of it”…..pack to shop…..not to piss of the ticket agent at the airport…..because you can’t fit in what you bought on your trip…..due to the fact that you packed “TOO MUCH CRAP!”…..anyway,…..Pedro says “Hola”…..and Nicole killed a plate already…..on my second beer…..and we ran into Harry again…..he’s such a cool brother…..his shipmate Richard showed up today…..and they’re doing a walk the beach beer run……there’s something you notice when you visit coastal cities….their love, respect and connection with the water……every day and night….the beaches were filled with people…..families connecting with water….I really can’t explain it…..but I’ve seen the same thing in France, Italy, Greece….the spiritual connection with water……it’s a slower way of life…..this weekend families were connecting with other families….such a great thing to watch…..Kobe Bryant and the Chicago Bulls jerseys are real popular here…..the African street vendors will sell you a knockoff for a good price…..one dude was representing Kevin Garnett….

DAY 7…..What would I say about Malaga……about the vibe, the overwhelming tourist, the “Mazetrix”……the family love you see……our adventures, the people we met…..the laughter, joy, easy way of living, be it good times or bad times…..the relationship you see the people have with the water and the outright fun we experienced….when your vacation is over…..you realize you’re returning to your world….back to maybe…..aggression…..rudeness…..and you change…..sometimes reverting back to the person who has a low tolerance for stupidity….and your vibe changes from one that was relaxed, calm….not having a care in the world…..to one that loses patience with a lot of things….and you understand that there is a different way to live your life more relaxed and enjoyable….and that’s what we experienced in Malaga…..so, the best way to describe Malaga living?…..the first time we met Pedro…… “Grilling on the beach…..smoking weed…..not a care in the world…..no stress……and getting paid…..what a great life…..how cool is that!”
