Forster was a dystopian novella set in a world where humanity lives in isolated……self-contained cells…..relying solely on machines for everything…..from communication to transportation to basic survival…..the novel’s portrayal of a society where technology dominates every aspect of life…..eerily mirrors the world we live in today….filled with social isolation and technology dependence……Forster’s predictions go beyond just the reliance on machines…..in the story, human beings have become so dependent on their technology…..that they no longer communicate face-to-face……and personal interaction is replaced with virtual meetings…..the machines……once designed to serve humanity…..begin to malfunction…..leading to a catastrophic collapse of the world as the people cannot survive without them……many readers have noted how strikingly similar this vision is to modern concerns about overreliance on technology…..social media, and artificial intelligence, making “The Machine Stops” one of the most prescient works of fiction…..while Forster’s tale was written over a century ago…..it continues to resonate deeply with readers in the 21st century…..it almost feels as though the author had glimpsed our world in a crystal ball…..predicting the rise of smartphones…..virtual connections, and the eventual dangers of living in a machine-reliant society…… “The Machine Stops” reminds us of the fragile balance between progress and dependency……and serves as a chilling warning about what might happen if we lose control of the technology that was meant to serve us.

THE ANCIENT BABYLONIANS……known for their advanced mathematics……used a base-60 (sexagesimal) numeral system instead of the base-10 system we use today…..this innovative approach to mathematics has left a lasting legacy…..influencing modern measurements of time and angles…..the reason we have 60 seconds in a minute and 360 degrees in a circle traces back to Babylonian calculations……their system was particularly useful for astronomical calculations…… providing a high degree of precision in their observations and predictions…..in addition to their contributions to mathematics…..the Babylonians possessed extensive knowledge in various scientific fields……they excelled in astronomy, meticulously recording celestial events such as lunar and solar eclipses…..these observations allowed them to develop a lunar calendar…..and predict astronomical phenomena with remarkable accuracy…..they also made significant advancements in medicine……using a combination of herbal remedies and surgical techniques…….Babylonian physicians documented their practices on clay tablets…..contributing to the broader knowledge of ancient medical practices…..overall, their scientific achievements underscore the sophistication and enduring impact of Babylonian civilization.
