…..Please don’t let 2021 start out like 2020….because in the beginning of the year….we lost a lot of good people…..and now we are losing legends….Cloris Leachman….Larry King…..Hank Aaron….and now…..Ms. Tyson…..who was an American actress and fashion model….had a career spanning more than seven decades, she became known for her portrayal of strong African-American women…..Ms. Tyson was the recipient of three Primetime Emmy Awards, four Black Reel Awards, one Screen Actors Guild Award, one Tony Award, an honorary Academy Award, and a Peabody Award…….Ms. Tyson was born in East Harlem on December 19, 1924, the daughter of Fredericka (Huggins) Tyson, a domestic worker, and William Augustine Tyson, who worked as a carpenter and painter….she was one of three children…..her parents were immigrants from Nevis in the West Indies…..her father arrived in New York City at age 21 and was processed at Ellis Island on August 4, 1919……Ms. Tyson grew up in a religious atmosphere….she sang in the choir and attended prayer meetings at an Episcopal church in East Harlem….Ms. Tyson’s mother was opposed to her becoming an actress and wouldn’t speak to her for a time…..she changed her mind when she saw Cicely appear on stage….Tyson received honorary degrees from Clark Atlanta University, Columbia University, Howard University, and Morehouse College….an all-male historically black college.……in September 2018, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that Ms. Tyson would receive an Academy Honorary Award….on November 18, 2018, Ms. Tyson became the first African-American woman to receive an honorary Oscar….. “Age is just a number….life and aging are the greatest gifts that we could possibly ever have”…..rest in peace Ms. Tyson….you were truly a trailblazer….and will be truly missed.
A MAN LEAVES 2 MILLION EURO TO A FRENCH VILLAGE THAT HID HIS FAMILY FROM THE NAZIS…..An Austrian man who fled the Nazis with his family during WWII….left a large part of his fortune to Le Chambon-sur-Lignon….Eric Schwam passed away at the age of 90….and wrote the surprised gift to the town…..it’s located in the south of France….and historically….it has a large Protestant community…..kind a weird since the Catholics in France have always had a problem with Protestants…..sit back on a weekend and watch the film Queen Margot….that might give you an idea on how much they liked each other…..anyway,….Eric and his family arrived in the village in 1943….and were hidden in a school for the duration of the war….and they remained until 1950….he later studied pharmacy….married a Catholic woman from the region….and asked that the money be used for educational and youth initiatives…..in particular scholarships…..over the centuries…..the village has taken in a wide range of people fleeing religious or political persecution…..from priest driven into hiding during the French Revolution…..Spanish republicans during the civil war of the 1930’s….and more recently….migrants and refugees from the Middle East and Africa.

BLACK LIVES MATTER IS NOMINATED FOR A NOBEL PEACE PRIZE….. BLM was nominated for the humanitarian honor by a Norwegian politician who hailed its multi-racial breadth, calling it “a very important worldwide movement to fight racial injustice,”…… Petter Eide, a member of Norway’s Parliament, brushed aside questions of the movement’s occasions of violence….. “Studies have shown that most of the demonstrations organized by Black Lives Matter have been peaceful, of course there have been incidents, but most of them have been caused by the activities of either the police or counter-protestors.”….. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump has been nominated for a second time, by another Norwegian politician…….
