…..The bond between Dorothy Shepard and Desoto, Texas officer John Holder started six months ago.….Shepard lives alone and is still recovering from back and knee surgery…..so Holder stopped in to see if she was ok….she never thought one visit would evolve into a lasting and beautiful friendship…..he said to her…… “Here’s my cell phone number…..if you ever need anything just call me”……the next day she needed a ride……he never told his coworkers about their friendship…..that ride is now a weekly routine…..they were spotted together shopping in Walmart prior to the Thanksgiving holiday…..someone saw them…..took a photo and shared it on the Desoto PD Facebook page……officer Holder said….. “I thought it was pretty amazing all, the great comments on there, since law enforcement is often seen in a negative light”…..Officer Holder is white…..Ms. Shepard is black.

TROOPERS DRIVE 87-YEAR OLD ACROSS UTAH TO SEE HER SON…..Helen Smith was driving from Nevada to Utah to see her ailing son….she was pulled over by Trooper Jeff Jones for driving too close to his car….he let her go with a warning….when she pulled off…she had her car in reverse and bumped his….while they were dealing with the dent in his car….she told him her story….he thought it wasn’t safe for her to drive….so he had her car towed to a safe location….and drove her to Juab County….where Trooper Jared Jensen picked her up….and escorted her to Utah County…..there Trooper Chris Smith drove her to Salt Lake County…..then Trooper Andrew Pollard completed the 180-mile journey to Ogden Regional Medical Center….he said she was very happy to tell him about her dogs and her cat and her hometown….he also said…. “To hold her hand walking into the hospital was very, very rewarding”….her son isn’t doing well but she was glad to be there for his treatment…..and she was happy “four good-looking patrol boys brought her there.”

PARENTS CANCEL CHRISTMAS FOR ENTITLED AND DISRESPECTFUL KIDS….John and Lisa Henderson told their kids.….if you keep acting up and disrespecting us…..you can forget about Christmas.….and they gave them ample time to straighten their act up…..and they gave them several months to straighten up…..when nothing changed…they told them…..forget it…..no Santa this year.….they decorated and did the normal Christmas things…..but there won’t be any presents under the tree…..instead they had them write letters to Santa asking him to find kids who need their presents more…..so John and Lisa will use the money they saved and put it towards projects and gifts for others..…they used the money to start a clothing drive for the typhoon victims in the Philippines…..and the Adopt-A-Grandparent Program.
